After an overwhelming number of disappointing auditions, I have made the decision to only accept private auditions for the foreseeable future.

If you're a real person interested in auditioning for any current audio dramas, you’re welcome to reach out to Melody Chikayuki on social media—or even ask during one of my streams.

I'm looking for voices with raw and genuine emotion. These aren’t audiobook readings for school, and they’re not Saturday morning cartoons. They require something felt, not performed.

I can tell the difference. When someone “performs” a role they don’t emotionally understand, it feels no different than an AI-generated submission—and I’ll treat it the same way.

You don’t need a fancy mic. As long as it doesn’t peak and your delivery carries real cadence and lived-in truth, you’ll do 100x better than someone with a $2,000 setup who just reads lines without soul.

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Ajae Cent Studio. Please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your audition.
Absolutely no Ai submissions are allowed.

Audition Requirements

• Audio Quality
  Please ensure audio recordings are clear, free of background noise, and professionally presented. Acceptable formats include MP3 320kbps or WAV (preferred).

• File Naming
  Clearly name your file:
  StoryName_CharacterName_YourName.mp3 (or .wav)
  Example: Consequence_CarolineKerne_JaneDoe.mp3 (or .wav)

• Audition Content
  Audition using the provided voice cues listed on the casting page for each character. Please do not deviate from the words provided on the script in your audition. Deviations once accepted we can discuss if you so desire.

• One Submission per Role
  Submit as many recordings as you would like so you can show the different variations of style, but, please label cleanly so that I can tell you which is preferred, You may audition for multiple characters and multiple stories, but must submit separate files for each character. You can separate variations for a character how you desire, as long as labeled properly.

Submission Format

Include the following information in your email submission:

• Name (For credit)

• Preferred Pronouns (Optional)

• Character(s) you are auditioning for

• Relevant voice acting, streaming, or performing experience (if any)

• Social Media Accounts

• Experience Alternative If you are new to voice acting then share all past information on performance, speech, and entertainment experience, with proof. Note, if accepted for a role, you will need to sign a contract with either your legal business, DBA, or legal name.

Additional Notes

• Upon selection, actors will receive a formal agreement outlining role details, payment terms, and content sensitivity acknowledgments.

• Due to the mature themes involved, actors must carefully review and acknowledge content warnings prior to accepting a role.

• Payment terms will be finalized individually upon casting acceptance. That being said, payments will be in USD in the contract. The Studio will cover any fees.

• By submitting you agree that you are at least 18 years of age or older.

Casting Policy

Submissions are reviewed based on cadence quality, technical standards, professionalism, and project needs.

Failure to adhere to posted instructions (including deadlines, check-ins, file requirements, and behavior expectations) may result in immediate disqualification.

Requests for reconsideration, arguments, or further discussion regarding casting decisions will not be entertained once rejected. Demanding otherwise will result in being added to a blacklist.

Submissions must come from real, verifiable human beings.

AI-generated audio, misrepresentation of experience, or falsified credentials will result in permanent blacklisting, and if required a report to the proper authorities.

Payment Philosophy

At Ajae Cent Studio, we believe in fair pay for voice actors — not based on strict runtime or word count, but on the narrative weight, emotional demand, and effort of the role.

We’re an independent, one-person studio. All writing, directing, editing, engineering, and post-production is handled in-house. While our budgets are limited, we scale compensation to reflect:

• How central the character is to the story

• The emotional complexity and performance range required

• The number of scenes and sustained character presence

• Respect for your time and talent, even if we can’t pay industry-tier rates yet

We don’t ask for unpaid work, and we don't exploit “exposure” as a substitute for compensation. All performers are paid, properly credited, and welcomed back for future roles as the studio grows. It is common if we are pleased with your performance to pay more than the agreed on amount.
